The Teeth Whitening Procedure

A specialised Zoom LED light is then used to activate the whitening formula, helping to break down stains and brighten your teeth. The treatment takes approximately one hour, with many patients noticing a visibly whiter smile immediately after their appointment. For deeper or more stubborn staining, additional treatments or take-home whitening may be recommended to achieve your desired result.
We will activate the bleaching agent using the Zoom Blue LED. The activated bleaching agents chemically dissolve the surface stains on the teeth, revealing a pearly white layer. This process will last for about an hour and you will observe an instant reduction in the colour of your teeth by up to 3 shades at the end of the procedure. Some patients may require multiple sittings for optimal results.
At-Home Teeth Whitening
For some patients, the best results are achieved by combining in-chair treatment with a customised take-home whitening kit. At South Coast Dentists, we provide custom-made whitening trays and a professional-strength whitening gel that is designed for safe use at home.
You’ll wear your whitening trays for around an hour each day, as directed by your dentist, for one to two weeks to gradually achieve a brighter smile. Take-home teeth whitening is also an excellent option for patients who prefer the convenience of whitening their teeth at home or have busy schedules that make it difficult to attend multiple appointments at our dental practice.
